The annual event was organised and run by Bunbury Water Polo Association over the weekend with the participation of ex-national players, Olympians and the 2017 World Masters Champion, Perth Cockatoos (65+). In order to make the games fairer, a handicapping system was put in place.

The competition in Rockhampton, QLD, was strong, but both WA teams weren’t shaken. Our men’s team, came together quickly and finished out the competition in 5th. Whilst the women proved WA is still here and still going strong walking away with a convincing 3rd place Bronze.

WPA Announce New Digital Platform

Water Polo Australia (WPA) is pleased to announce that following an extensive review of the current digital and membership platforms in conjunction with the State and Territory Water Polo Associations, WPA will be moving to a new digital platform in addition to a new national registration policy that will come into effect from 1 July 2018.

GRAND Final weekend for the Water Polo WA 2017-18 season produced some thrilling results culminating in the first of the Premier League Cross Conference deciders with the Women’s competition won by UWA Rangers and the Men’s by the South Fremantle Bloods.

First School Carnival ran in Mandurah

On Friday the 16th of March, the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre hosted its first School Flippa Ball Carnival. This was run by Mandurah Aquatic in association with Peel Water Polo Club and had nine teams from four different schools in the area participate.

Flippball Carnival a Huge Success

Water Polo WA hosted its second annual Flippa Ball Carnival on Sunday the 18th of March. Fourteen teams from seven different clubs participated in this year’s Carnival, which was an improvement in comparison to the attendance from last year.
